Cashnet goes live
Euronet Services India, a subsidiary of Euronet Worldwide, a leader in electronic
payment solutions, has commenced operations of its independent shared ATM networkCashnetin
India, with IDBI Bank and Citibank. The other founding member banksStandard
Chartered Bank and UTI Bankare currently being linked to the network and
will join the network shortly. The transactions are supported by online connections
between each bank and the Euronet processing centre in Mumbai to offer end-to-end
online transaction processing.
Datacards new smart
card platform
Datacard Group has introduced an universal smart card platform for the personalisation
of radio frequency identification (RFID) cards. The new platform, which supports
a wide range of open and proprietary RFID systems, is available as an option
on all Datacard Select Platinum and Magna Platinum card printers. In a single
pass, a customer can print cards, encode magnetic stripes, personalise smart
cards, download applications and upload information to identity databases.
ARC tie-up with Teradata
Teradata has signed an agreement with Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC),
a leader in airline financial processing and data services. The contract involves
the expansion of ARCs existing Teradata warehouse in support of ARCs
participation in a first and final interline billing solution for
the global airline industry. Interline billing, a historically resource-intensive
process, involves the sharing of revenue between airlines for a passenger ticket
that involves more than one carrier or travel on an airline other than the one
listed on the ticket purchased.
AyurShop launched
Vijayanagaram Ayurved Bhandar, dealers in Ayurvedic medicines, and Brain Systems,
an Internet solutions provider, have launched AyurShop.com, an online Ayurveda
store. The online store will offer products from companies like Baidyanath,
B V Pandit and Sagar Pharmaceuticals, among others. It will host discussion
forums that will include answers to common health problems by medical experts.
Bangalore to host outsourcing
event
India Outsourcing Summit 2003 will be held in Bangalore on October 15 and 16,
2003. The summit is expected to attract around 40 international delegates in
addition to 300 Indian delegates. Foreign delegates from companies such as Proctor
& Gamble and Dell are expected to explore outsourcing opportunities in India.
The event is being hosted by the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) and
it has been conceived by US-based Michael F Corbett & Associates in association
with the Trade Fairs & Conferences International (TFCI) and Fortune Custom
Projects.
Citrix announces new India
strategy
Citrix Systems has announced a new product strategy for the Indian market. Citrix
will extend its flagship MetaFrame XP Presentation Server into a suite of productsthe
MetaFrame Access Suite to consolidate multiple technologies that an enterprise
requires to provide end-to-end access to enterprise applications and information.
