Satyam to implement SCM solution
Certain Teed Corporation, a leading North American manufacturer of building
materials and a subsidiary of the Saint-Gobain conglomerate, has selected Satyam
to implement its supply chain management (SCM) solution for the insulation division
of CertainTeed. Satyams scope of work would also include implementation
of other modules of SAP such as MM, PP and FVCO. This supply chain solution
would enable the insulation group to significantly improve their efficiency,
resulting in significant inventory reduction and higher inventory turnover.
The proposed solution would also standardise processes and performance measurements
across the supply chain and would operate on an integrated systems platform.
HP targets graphic design
market
HP India recently launched the Designjet 120 series of printers for the burgeoning
designer community. Said Puneet Chadha, business unit manager at HP, Graphic
designers had to outsource their printing needs as there were no desktop printers
available, which could cater to their requirements. With the launch of the Designjet
120 series we plan to fill the gap for a cost-effective desktop printer, which
also offers colour management features.
Tarang, HP implement NTT
DoCoMo project
Tarang Software Technologies has announced the launch of DoCommerce, a wireless
account aggregation service for NTT DoCoMo, Japan, with more than 46 million
customers. Tarang and HP have implemented the solution jointly. With this launch,
NTT DoCoMo has become the first telco in Japan to provide mobile payments and
wireless account aggregation services. Thousands of customers have already registered
for this service. The account aggregation feature developed by Tarang enables
DoCommerce users to check simultaneously on one single screen, the balances
of their various financial accounts with banks, credit card companies, etc.
By requiring just one password, this convenient solution greatly helps to save
time by eliminating
the need to access and view each account separately.
Bharat Co-op Bank implements
core-banking solution
Bharat Cooperative Bank, a Mumbai-based urban cooperative bank with more than
30 branches spread across the country, has announced that it has become the
first urban co-operative bank in the country to successfully implement an enterprise-wide
core banking solution. The bank, which boasts of deposits of more than Rs 875
crore and a working capital base of Rs 1,009 crore, has implemented OMNIEnterprise
of InfraSoft Technologies. The solution covers the whole gamut of offerings
provided by the bank, including retail, ATM switch, Internet banking, phone
banking, forex, treasury and decision support system modules.
LogicaCMG launches RTGS
LogicaCMG has launched its real time gross settlement (RTGS) readiness solution
for Indian banks. The solution is an extension to the companys existing
Quaestor portfolio, and will be available to all banks and financial institutions
participating in the RTGS programme being implemented by the Reserve Bank of
India.
