Stylus Photo 900

Epson India has unveiled the Epson Stylus Photo 900, an affordably priced photo printer designed to support multiple media printing capabilities. The key feature of the Epson Stylus Photo 900 is that it can print directly on CD-R/DVD-R platters as also panoramic photographs on roll paper and snapshots on cut sheet paper.

The printer prints at Epson’s ultra high-definition 5760 optimised dpi resolution, and employs a four-picolitre ink droplet for ‘dotless’ contone prints. Support for Print Image Matching II and EXIF Print offers photo enthusiasts breathtaking and vibrant holiday photo opportunities. Combined with high-speed bi-directional printing, the printer prints up to 9 pages per minute (ppm) for black text, up to 8.8 ppm for colour text, and takes approximately 269 seconds to produce an A4-sized photograph.

The printer features several of Epson’s breakthrough technologies. It employs a 4-picolitre micro dot for virtually grain-free prints with variable sized droplet technology for smoother gradations and skin tones. In addition, it supports Epson natural colour designed to specifically enhance blue and green hues found commonly in nature for more beautiful photographs of landscapes, skies and vegetation.

The printer uses a dual-cartridge, six-colour photo ink system that is superior to more conventional four-colour ink printers. The addition of light Cyan and light Magenta rounds out the colour spectrum.

Improved BorderFree printing is now 1.3 times faster than previous Epson inkjet printers. BorderFree printing produces photo prints with no borders for 4R and A4. This is achieved when the software driver sends precise instructions to the printhead to fire only the nozzles required as it approaches the paper edge. A special absorber acts like a sponge to drain excess ink away from the paper and printhead, and eliminates smudging on the paper edge and on the printer. The roll paper holder can take sizes upto 210 mm. The printers back-feed media path also enables board paper printing up to a thickness of 2.5 mm.

The Epson Stylus Photo 900 is priced at Rs 14,495.

Hewlett-Packard India has introduced its latest offering in the DeskJet product category with the launch of hp DeskJet 9300, ‘the versatile professional.’ Designed to cater to the various needs of professional customers across businesses and industries, the hp DeskJet 9300 comes at an affordable price of Rs 25,415 and will be made available through HP channels across the country.

Without compromising either on speed or quality of print the hp DeskJet 9300 prints up to 4800 optimised dpi in colour and rich black text. It is capable of giving prints at 14 ppm (black) and 11ppm (colour) with a robust duty cycle of up to 5,000 pages per month and a high cartridge yield of up to 833 pages (black) and 970 pages (colour). For ease-of-use and added flexibility hp DeskJet 9300 has three trays/ media paths that can be used for paper, transparencies and any other media desired.

Kodak India has launched the world’s first combined camera and printer dock. The Kodak EasyShare printer dock 6000 is a combination printer and camera dock that prints durable photos in less than 90 seconds with or without a computer. It combines all the benefits of an EasyShare dock, including one-touch picture transfer and battery recharging, with continuous tone thermal dye transfer printing. With the press of just one button, the printer dock 6000 produces durable, borderless 4" x 6" Kodak prints directly from the 6000/600 series of Kodak EasyShare cameras. In addition, the printing process automatically adds a special XtraLife laminate coating, which ensures that the prints are durable, waterproof, and last a lifetime. The printer dock uses dye that dries instantly. Consumers can use the dock as a standalone photo printer, connect it to their computer to upload photos, or even attach it to their TV to view a slide show. The dock, priced at Rs 13,000, comes equipped with photo paper and ribbon cartridge system that enables consumers to print 10 Kodak pictures.
