Sharp introduces high-tech printers, MFDs
When devices go digital the potential and
functionality they offer users is limitless. Sharp Business Systems, a leading
player in the office automation and documentation space, educated users on the
best use of utility devices such as multi function devices (MFDs), at its three-city
OfficeNext event held recently in Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai.
A device that becomes digital is
a completely new tool that could change the look of the office and the functions
of the device, said S K Sinha, chief executive, Sharp India.
OfficeNext introduced the AR-M450 digital
laser printer, the AR-235 digital laser copier/printer, the AR-M350 digital
laser printer and the AR-275 digital laser copier/printer. The event was aimed
at bringing together IT decision-makers to explore the latest technologies and
get a firsthand view of Sharps proven strategies in the high-end digital
solutions market place.
Speaking on the occasion, T Mori, managing
director, Sharp Business Systems India said, Decision-makers in technology
companies should always have strict and set parameters for selecting technologies
of the future. The value of smart office solutions lies in the fact that they
bring ease-of-use and better RoI to the client. Sharps MFD systems promise
to enhance networking-based solutions and offer higher per-employee productivity.
While talking about smart solutions for
offices of the future, Sinha also elaborated on Sharps future strategy
to help customers handle document management systems efficiently.
Atul Gupta, head, marketing and business
development at Sharp India, shared research results that showed that 30-40 percent
of an employees time is lost in non-productive document related activities.
To reduce the wastage of time and increase efficiency, Sharp India introduced
Sharp Desk Management System. It is a simple, easy-to-use application
that mimics the way we work, but in a far more efficient and productive way,
Gupta said. This machine has clusters, which easily split the job automatically
between printers to achieve results in the least possible time. It also re-routes
the print job if the targeted printer is not working or busy.
Gupta also introduced the Sharp e-mail
reporter, which provides remote monitoring of Sharps MFDs using standard
e-mail messages. It informs and warns both local users and service providers
of device status and any problems. Sharp has also introduced the Print Printlog
Account server, which helps monitor and survey printer/copier use and cost.
OfficeNext, which was an Express Computer
event, was well attended by the CIO and CTO community.
