Xansa’s largest Indian centre inaugurated

CIRCUIT EC / Channai

The $800 million IT services and business process company, Xansa, has inaugurated its technology and process centre in Chennai for creating and delivering business process and technology solutions to global clients. The centre, with the potential to house upto 6,000 employees, is situated at SIPCOT IT park in Siruseri, near Chennai and is Xansa’s largest facility in India.

Apart from Chennai, Xansa has a software campuses-cum-development centre in Noida and is setting up one more centre in Pune. The company has spent Rs 160 crore for the first phase of its three Indian centres.

Alistair Cox, chief executive, Xansa Plc said that Xansa’s Indian operations “are central to the success and growth of Xansa worldwide.”

Cox further said that while the Indian model relies heavily on technical capabilities, Xansa does “consulting and advisory services at the board-level where decisions on huge IT spending are taken. “Xansa does not concentrate on individual short-term projects that come in certain defined units, budget and timeframe. On the other hand, the company concentrates on managing IT services that are typically worth hundreds of millions and last for decades of association with customers. “When we take such projects the mentality itself is entirely different and hence, we develop our expertise in integrating and managing business knowledge as well as technology,” he said.

Saurabh Srivastava, executive chairman, Xansa India said, “As of now we are not concentrating on BPO in a big way. Out of 1,200 employees in India, we have only 220 BPO agents. We entered the BPO business only a year ago with 20 agents and have grown into a 220-member team.
