Enterasys ties up with
Select
Enterasys Networks has entered into a tie-up with Bangalore-based Select Technologies,
the networking arm of WeP Peripherals, to distribute Enterasys Roam About Wireless
LAN products, Matrix switches and XPEDITION routers to Indian enterprises. Under
the agreement, Select Technologies will also provide training, logistics and
technical support to Enterasys customers. Enterasys also announced the
launch of its Matrix N-Series of switching products.
gotoBavaria wants more
Indian IT companies to follow Afteks example
gotoBavaria is banking upon branding Munich as the next IT destination in Europe.
The agency recently highlighted the success of Mumbai-based Aftek Infosys, which
has acquired a strategic stake in Munich-based Arexera Information Technologies
in an all-cash deal, for a consideration of Euro 8.86 million. Aftek Infosys
has a 49 percent share in Arexera and will acquire 100 percent of the German
company in the next four months.
Ramaiah Group consolidates
Companies under Valdel
name
The M S Ramaiah Group has announced the consolidation of three of its group
companies John Brown Technologies, AmSoft Information Services and Sun Mart
under a single holding company Valdel Corporation. Valdel Corporation will now
comprise Valdel Engineers & Constructors, Amsoft, Valdel Retail and Valdels
BPO venture. The restructuring exercise will not affect M S Ramaiah Groups
educational and healthcare companies that would continue to operate as before.
Staffware launches
India operations
Staffware, a company focussing on business process management (BPM) software,
has announced the launch of its local operations. Staffware also announced that
it has secured a significant BPM contract from HDFC Bank. Under the terms of
the contract, Staffware will implement the Staffware Process Suite to identify,
streamline and automate key elements of the processes associated with business
critical tasks.
MBT renews Asia-Pacific
focus
Mahindra British Telecom is laying down effective strategies to tap the growing
Asia-Pacific market. While Asia-Pacific is emerging as one of the worlds
leading telecommunication markets, both in terms of growing subscriber base
as well as newer technology deployments, the company has plans to grab a significant
share of the pie. The Asia-Pacific region currently contributes about
3-4 percent of the overall revenue, our target is to increase this share to
about 12-13 percent, says Amitava Dutta, principal consultant, Mahindra
British Telecom.
Ensim plans to double
workforce
Ensim Corporation, headed by Silicon Valley guru Kanwal Rekhi, is planning to
double its workforce from around 80 people to around 160 people at its Pune
development centre. Whats significant is that almost 90 percent of the
workforce in India will be involved in developing some of the latest products
for Ensim. Said Arunkumar, VP, Engineering at Ensim Corporation, We did
not have any Indian component in the year 2000, but today most of the product
development work is done from India. Already, the team in India has been
involved in developing some of Ensims well-known products like WEBppliance
PRO for Windows, Unify and Exchange Manager.
