Bosch launches intrusion alarm business in India

Circuit EC / Bangalore

Bosch Security Systems has launched a range of products and services related to intrusion alarms. Bosch has intrusion alarm solutions that are available both in wired and wireless categories. Passive infrared, microwave and tritech detectors help companies detect intruders. The company is active in video observation, surveillance, digital public address and evacuation systems and digital conference and language interpretation systems. Bosch Security Systems will soon be launching fire alarm, access control and management systems.

V K Viswanathan, joint managing director, MICO said “We will grow our security business in India and the intrusion alarm business will be an important part of our strategy.” Globally Bosch’s security systems division develops, manufactures and sells fire detection and intrusion alarm systems, video-monitoring systems, time-management systems, access control systems and public address systems and paging devices.

Bosch commenced its security business in India in January 2003 after its Indian sales subsidiary MICO acquired the security business of Philips India. This was part and parcel of a global acquisition of the Communication, Security and Imaging (CSI) business of Philips. Bosch had earlier acquired the US-based Detection Systems Inc in Jan 2001. With the two acquisitions Bosch Security Systems is now present in 38 countries.
