Talisma announces
WebCenter 5.0
Talisma has announced the launch of the fifth generation of its
customer service management (CSM) suite that helps turn customer
service centres into profit centres. Talisma WebCenter 5.0
helps increase profitability and customer satisfaction with a fully
integrated platform for managing cross-channel customer interactions,
including real-time chat, collaboration and instant messaging.
Samsung targets
14 percent PC share
Samsung Electronics India is targeting a 14 percent share of the
estimated 2.4 million units market for PCs through its recently
launched BuildURpc initiative. Princy Bhatnagar, country manager-BUPC,
SEIIT said, We are looking at sales of over one lakh branded
PCs this year.

Symantec Corp. has introduced increased consumer support and subscription
services in India. With this, Symantecs retail customers of
its Norton range of products will have immediate access to all comprehensive
product information, technical support and subscription upgrades
through a dedicated toll-free customer service number.
Creative launches
trade programme
Creative Technology has announced the launch of its Creative retail
partner programme across three major metro cities namely, Mumbai,
New Delhi and Bangalore. The company has selected eight premium
retail partners to participate in the initial phase of this retail
programme based on strategic geographical locations, retail experience
and commitment to the Creative brand.
Novell introduces
Netware 6.5
Novell has introduced Novell NetWare 6.5 to deliver advanced services
for business. NetWare 6.5 reduces management costs and complexity
by protecting the network and its valuable data while providing
sophisticated means to increase user productivity. NetWare 6.5 also
includes open source and Web services technologies to support the
integration and deployment of critical business applications.
Second round
of funding for Plexion
Plexion Technologies completed its second round of funding of $2
million from JP Morgan Partners. Jonathan Lynch, general partner
at JPMorgan Partners, New York said, After the IT services
boom, an increasing number of automotive and aerospace OEMs are
turning to India for more cost-effective options in getting high-end
design services, realising that India has a huge engineering talent
waiting to be harnessed.
Emerson wins
MAIT award
Emerson Network Power (India) recently received the MAIT Excellence
in Exports award in the hardware category for 2002-03. ENPIs
exports track record for 2002-03 has pegged it as the emergent leader
in power supply exports across products within the companys
network uptime solution. These range from UPS, precision ACs, DC
power systems, and automatic transfer switches.
Online solutions
from SHL
SHL, an assessment and development tools provider has announced
it will be developing desktop and online solutions and services
in partnership with HCL Perot Systems via a dedicated offshore development
centre in India.
