Every year strategy and marketing consulting firm Skoch Consultancy
Services releases its annual analysis of the Indian IT industry.
The sixth annual edition, titled Browser 2002, was presented at
Skoch Summit-Challengers 2003, held at New Delhi on March 26. The
report covers all IT market segments from hardware and software
to networking. Here are some important findings of Skoch’s analysis
Skoch predicts good times
ahead
Skoch Summit 2003, Skochs annual IT industry conference coincided
with the Skoch Challengers 2003 Awards. Sixth in the series, the
Summit has assumed special importance in view of the persisting
uncertainties concerning the slump in the IT industry, trade barriers
in export territories, the Digital Divide and international hostilities.

In an industry littered with awards that focus only on revenues,
Skoch recently presented the Challengers 2003 Awards which bring
a unique positioning to the Indian IT industry. The Challengers

at a time when the market was experiencing an all-time low, Samsungs

SCO: Driven by customers
At 2,282 units in 2002, the SCO Group has bagged a 5 percent share
of the total server market in India, pegged at 45,640 units. Skoch
also believes that the SCO Group is well positioned to double its
market share in three years or earlier.
