Rashi Peripherals recently announced the launch of Prolink Microsystems’ PixelView Saturn 150, a new 15-inch LCD TV/ monitor, in India. With the combination of LCD and TV technology, PixelView Saturn 150 is equipped with a special TV panel that is richer than the average LCD panel, which enables it to display rich images. Saturn 150, claims features such as excellent TV with stereo audio, high quality live TV with 125 channels, picture-in-picture and V-Chip. Apart from this the product also features YCbCr, S-Video, composite connectors and two pairs of 4W stereo speakers with Bass effect. The product, priced at Rs 58,000, provides brightness up to 400 cd/mnits (MAX) and high contrast ratio (500:1, max) with super-wide viewing angles Left/Right: 85/85,UP /Down:85 /85 and fast response (25m/s) to display finely detailed, high-definition and richly saturated colour images.

Macromedia has announced the availability of Macromedia FreeHand MX, a multi-publishing solution for conceptualising and designing visually rich graphics for print, Internet, and Macromedia Flash projects. Pune-based Soft-AID Computers has recently launched ESM, a software for serving the physical security needs of an organisation. The software comprises four modules: visitor access control, materials management, vehicle management and keys management. The visitor access control has a pass creation subsystem and can also track a visitor movements on the premise.The system also enables data analysis. This feature enables the security department of an organisation to take strategic decisions and also serves as an early warning system for possible security threats. Materials management enables the user to enter details about all material leaving the premise into the computer. Vehicle management deals with the control of the movement of vehicles owned by a company. Keys management deals with the control of the number of keys in an organisation by attaching a barcode strip to every key. Soft-AID provides the customer with the option of choosing SQL server or Oracle for backend operations. The system also has a Web interface, which enables individuals to create appointments, material gate pass, etc., through the local interface. The system is highly scalable and can be made operational from a single machine.
