Avhan unveils product for building telephony applications

Stanley Glancy / Mumbai

Thanks to the recent spurt in the BPO arena, personalised interaction with customers has gained importance in the CRM space. Realising the potential in this space, Avhan Technologies recently released the Avhan Call Flow Designer (CFD) toolkit Version 2, a rapid development toolkit for Interactive Voice Response (IVR) and Interactive Fax Response (IFR). The solution, according to the company’s founder and CEO, Anand Awasthi, enables an organisation to build multi-line computer telephone applications from IVRs that integrate multiple databases to high volume fax-on-demand systems. He said, “We have created a VB for telephony applications. The graphical interface is extremely user-friendly as it enables you to simply drag icons into a user-friendly graphical flow chart.”

The CFD toolkit allows change in call flows without affecting the system. It offers a multi-lingual system support including English, Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Arabic, etc. The solution has been integrated with Philips voice recognition engine. The text-to-speech software, Vachak, has also been integrated with Avhan’s solution. The CLID/DNIS (caller identification services) based routine definitions allow the user to create personal call handling mechanisms with multiple IVR applications running up to 200 different ports.

Awasthi added, “The latest version of our product supports XML and can handle 45-50 lines in application. The application also enables an organisation to handle around 50,000 calls using just one computer. The new version is also HTTP compliant and comes with a Web server.”

Focus verticals for Avhan include e-governance, telecom, large enterprises. Awasthi expects these sectors to adopt CFD in a big way. According to Awasthi, a 12-port IVR deployed in five locations can save an organisation up to Rs 10 lakh. No wonder then that Avhan expects to make close to Rs 10 crore in revenues from this product alone, within a span of two years.

The company has adopted the licensing model to market its product in the international market. Towards this end it has partnered with Siemens and Zensar Technologies. Avhan is currently looking at attaining an ISO certification for its product, to boost its standing in the market.
