Kodak has announced the launch of its new digital camera EasyShare LS420. It delivers high-quality print up to 8”X10”. It comes with 3X digital zoom and built-in Kodak colour science technology.

In addition, users can have great fun taking videos of their favourite memories, complete with sound, and are only limited in video length by the size of the memory card. With 8MB of internal memory, users will always be able to capture the moment. With a MultiMediaCard/Secure Digital (MMC/SD) expansion slot, consumers can expand their memory with these postage stamp-sized cards.

An easy to use camera, the LS420 offers a simple way to shoot still pictures as well as video, share digital pictures and createportentous prints.

Sophos, the UK-based virus buster, has announced the launch of Enterprise Manager that provides automatic distribution of the very latest virus protection updates and Sophos applications as well as offering on-demand updates.

Using Enterprise Manager, network administrators can specify the time and frequency of scheduled automated downloads. This software allows hourly automatic updates or updates on demand to provide the highest level of protection. Enterprise Manager uses proprietary technology to ensure that files have not been corrupted.

Enterprise Manager downloads both the most recently issued virus identities and Sophos software from a dedicated corporate website ensuring that even during periods of heavy Web traffic, updates via Enterprise Manager continue to arrive at the scheduled time. It transfers only the necessary files to avoid sending duplicate data across network links and to reduce bandwidth usage.

D-Link recently introduced a series of Layer 3 switches namely DGS 3308TG, DGS 3308 FG, DES 3326S and DES 6300. These switches are optimised for the campus intranet and enterprise networks. Layer 3 switches incorporating IP routing are very fast as they are processed by the on-board ASIC chips instead of the CPU as in routers. With intelligent traffic management, they also allow specification of port bandwidth and priority queues for streaming media, VoIP and other high priority classes of traffic.

DGS 330TG provides six Gigabit Copper ports plus 2 GBIC slots, 16 Gbps switching fabric capacity, supports 16 Mb packet buffer memory and SNMP and Web-based management.

DGS 3308FG switch provides six Gigabit fibre 1000 Base SX Ports, plus two GBIC slots, 16 Gbps switching fabric capacity, supports 16 MB packet buffer memory and SNMP and Web-based management.

DES 3326S stackable switch provides stackable 24 N way 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet (RJ-45) ports, plus optional 2-port Gigabit Ethernet modules, 8.8 Gbps switching fabric capacity, supports 8K MAC address, 16 Mb packet buffer memory, Auto Negotiation 10M/100M speed function, full/half duplex operations and SNMP and Web-based management. It provides stacking functions and can have six devices in a stack.

DES 6300 switch is a high port density chassis switch with redundant power supply designed for the department and campus/enterprise. It provides six open slots for very flexible configuration. In the management module, the switch provides 10/100 port-96 (Max), 100 base FX port (48-port Max SC) (72 port Max MTRJ), GE copper 1000 Base T Port-12 (Max), GE Fiber 1000Base SX/LX Port-12 (Max).
