The 15th biennial International Conference on Computer Communication (ICCC 2002), to be held in Mumbai between August 11 and 14, 2002 will cover computer communication technologies and applications, and their impact on society under the theme, ‘Redefining Internet in the context of Pervasive Computing’. The conference will cover a gamut of topics ranging from broadband Internet applications, and Voice over IP to ubiquitous computing, digital opportunities and network applications. The technology sessions will focus on subjects like e-commerce, 3G mobile/wireless LAN integration, and wireless ATM.

The entire event has been co-ordinated by the Mumbai Chapter of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) India under the stewardship of Harish Mehta, one of the pioneers of the Indian IT industry. The tutorial sessions to be held in conjunction with the conference will provide extensive information on security and risk management for the computing environment, wireless networks, optical networks, real time systems and operating systems, 3G cellular networks and Information Technology in banking and insurance.

ICCC is a global, multidisciplinary body whose mission is to focus early attention on the potential social and economic impacts of computer communication and of policies that strongly influence those impacts. Mehta proudly proclaims that the conference is coming to India for the first time and feels that it would provide valuable insights to the Indian telecom and communications industry.
