The
15th biennial International Conference on Computer Communication
(ICCC 2002), to be held in Mumbai between August 11 and 14,
2002 will cover computer communication technologies and applications,
and their impact on society under the theme, Redefining
Internet in the context of Pervasive Computing. The
conference will cover a gamut of topics ranging from broadband
Internet applications, and Voice over IP to ubiquitous computing,
digital opportunities and network applications. The technology
sessions will focus on subjects like e-commerce, 3G mobile/wireless
LAN integration, and wireless ATM.
The entire event has been co-ordinated by the Mumbai Chapter
of The IndUS Entrepreneurs (TiE) India under the stewardship
of Harish Mehta, one of the pioneers of the Indian IT industry.
The tutorial sessions to be held in conjunction with the conference
will provide extensive information on security and risk management
for the computing environment, wireless networks, optical
networks, real time systems and operating systems, 3G cellular
networks and Information Technology in banking and insurance.
ICCC is a global, multidisciplinary body whose mission is
to focus early attention on the potential social and economic
impacts of computer communication and of policies that strongly
influence those impacts. It is an affiliate of the International
Federation for Information Processing and is headquartered
in Washington, DC. Mehta proudly proclaims that the conference
is coming to India for the first time and feels that it would
provide valuable insights to the Indian telecom and communications
industry.
