Iomega
HDD 20GB

Iomega Corporation has introduced a rugged and highly portable external hard drive, designed to facilitate higher capacity data storage, transfer, backup and recovery—the sleek new HDD 20GB portable hard drive with ultra-fast UYSB2.0 connectivity.
This new drive for Windows and Macintosh users is plug-and-play, which gives users the convenience of connecting the peripheral to a desktop or laptop computer without rebooting or having to install the device. Actual user transfer rates, as high as 48 MB per second, make it practical and affordable for sharing and editing video and image files, developing business presentations and working with large data sets.

This HDD portable hard drive builds on the Iomega Peerless drive. Weighing only 231 grams, this drive’s sleek design and detachable interface module combine high shock resistance with a mobile hard drive that is slim enough to fit in most shirt pockets and any laptop bag. The Iomega HDD portable hard drive is rugged enough to withstand a drop from a 50-inch high shelf to an industrial carpet.

The drive also comes with easy-to-use software applications that help users manage storage backup and recovery. These applications include the Iomega QuickSync software that provides automatic on-the-fly backup, as well as disaster recovery software to backup and retrieve data, system files and registry information. Iomega’s user-friendly software provides for easy, fast recovery of data loss from virus attacks, hackers, power interruption and accidental file deletion.

Raritan
TeleReach

Rariton Technologies has announced the introduction of their new server management hardware. Christened TeleReach, it controls servers from anywhere in the building or across a campus. It also manages branch office servers from a central site.

Network administrators can access and control any server or multiple servers connected to a Raritan KVM switch via the Internet, LAN or WAN, or dial-up modem.

TeleReach connects to the keyboard, video, and mouse ports of a server or KVM switch. It captures, digitises, and compresses video and transmits the video with keyboard and mouse signals to a remote PC. The remote user has direct access to servers for total control, from GUI applications to BIOS level troubleshooting, maintenance, administration, and even rebooting. Since access to servers via TeleReach is out-of-hand, servers are available even if the network is down.
