Intoto develops security solution on Intel network processors

Circuit EC/Hyderabad

US-based Intoto, a company that provides embedded security software solutions for gateway devices, has developed a state-of-the-art inspection firewall solution (npFirewall) for the Intel IXP1200 network processor. The solution addresses the OEM needs for building high performance secured gateway applications, including broadband access platforms, QoS, firewalls and intrusion detection, virtual private networks, load balancing equipment and multi-service switches. According to S N Murthy, president and COO of Intoto Software, which is a subsidiary of Intoto Inc, the company’s implementation of a full-featured Netware Address Transmission (NAT) and Firewall solution in microcode can deliver scalable performance on communications equipment based on the Intel IXP1200, IXP2400 and IXP425 network processors. Its microcode helps equipment makers to quickly integrate security features into their products, accelerating the time market.

Intoto’s iGateway npFire-wall solution for the Intel IXP1200 network processor offers full-fledged inspection firewall software which is based on Intoto’s ICSA certified iGateway firewall. The architecture supports the use of multiple data processing engines on Intel network processors, enabling the OEMs to build scalable high performance firewall equipment. The npFirewall has the capacity to create multiple virtual I firewall using subscriber specific policies.
