CommunicAsia to be held in June

Circuit EC/Mumbai

Singapore Exhibition Services, a member of the Montgomery Network and an organiser of international trade fairs in Singapore, is organising CommunicAsia2002, which will be hosted and endorsed by the Infocomm Develo-pment Authority of Singapore (IDA). The event, an annual affair in Singapore and scheduled to be held from June 18-21, 2002 at the Suntec, is expected to bring together more than 1,600 participating companies. The event will be held in conjunction with BroadcastAsia2002, a broadcast and multimedia event, and alongside CommunicAsia Summit on a 50,000 square metre spread.

In addition to regular

events like MobileComm2002, NetworkAsia2002 and eBizAsia2002, this year’s exhibition will see the inauguration of SatComm2002, a focussed event on satellite communications for the telecom industry. SatComm branches off from CableSat, which caters to the cable and satellite players involved in both the ICT and broadcasting industry. The eBiz section will cover the vast opportunities that remain to be tapped with B2B electronic transactions. The other highlights will include VoIP, unified communications, e-finance, content management system and ASP. NetworkAsia2002, which will focus on IPv6, the next generation protocol designed to replace the 20 year-old IPv4, will have network security and infrastructure as key components of the event.

The MobileComm-Asia2002 specialist conference will be held in conjunction with ‘Wireless Week’, a week-long event featuring business-focussed as well as technology-driven forums and seminars. Another high-level event taking place alongside CommunicAsia2002 will be the Asia Pacific Telecommunity Business Dialogue, a closed door gathering of top APT members across the globe.
