Hummingbird ropes in Datamatics as Global Alliance Partner

Hummingbird, Canada’s second-largest software organisation has forged a Global Alliance Partnership (GAP) with Mumbai-based Datamatics. The GAP enables Datamatics to service Hummingbird’s EIP (Enterprise Information Portal) installations worldwide. In addition, it augments the client base of both organisations and enriches their respective services portfolio.

HCL Technologies announces tie-up with Zamba

HCL Technologies has announced the formation of a strategic alliance with ZAMBA Solutions, a US-based Customer Relationship Management (CRM) consulting and systems integration company, to offer joint CRM solutions to Global 2000 companies. As part of the agreement, HCL Technologies will invest a sum of $1 million through its US subsidiary towards fresh equity issuance.

The alliance, the company says, is a pioneering initiative in high value CRM services and seamlessly combines ZAMBA’S business strategy, process expertise and CRM implementation experience with the quality, cost efficiencies, breadth-of-technology and time-to-deployment advantages that HCL Technologies brings by virtue of its extensive offshore infrastructure and global scale.

Wipro to set up global development centre for Corona

Wipro Technologies announced the setting up of a global development centre for US-based Corona Networks. Corona Networks is a leading developer of next generation network-based edge aggregation and intelligent IP service platforms. Through this association, Corona will get the dual benefit of leveraging on Wipro’s technology expertise for product development and ensuring significant cost savings.

Microland looks at ITES sector

Bangalore-based Microland plans to enter into IT-enabled services and would be setting up an online remote system management and high-end technology support centre in Bangalore. The company claims that the new facilities would strengthen its existing system integration business and would help in scaling up its operations in overseas market. The company has already been providing infrastructure management services to banking and call centre companies and also maintaining skills and expertise in infrastructure technologies.

HP launches Unix server

HP has launched its new mid-range Unix server rp7410 in the Indian market. The new server will replace the existing HP Unix server rp7400. HP says the launch has consolidated its server portfolio in the country in the Unix space with this launch. The new server is configured with up to eight high-performance pa8700 processors of 650 or 750 MHz with 64 Gbps memory. The company is also introducing an entry-level Unix server, the rp2400 at Rs 1 lakh, which is 50 percent lower than its original price.

TriVium’s SimpleRM rated among top 30 CRM packages

TriVium India, a leading provider of Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software for mid-sized and fast growing companies, has announced that its SimpleRM CRM solution suite has been named by ISM, as one of the Top 30 CRM software packages for 2002. ISM is a premier CRM research, market analysis, and consulting firm, specialising in sales, customer service, marketing, e-Business, and Business Intelligence in the US. This is the first time that TriVium’s solution has been selected to ISM’s list, with the company's second major release of SimpleRM.

India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce to host seminar in Chennai

The India-ASEAN-Sri Lanka Chamber of Commerce & Industry is organising a Seminar at Chennai on March 15, 2002, to focus on the ‘Emerging Business Opportunities in South East Asia’. The seminar will address the scope of India’s trade in the ASEAN region after AFTA comes into force, India’s emerging Call Centre industry and its role as a back office for South East Asian companies and the growing demand for Indian managerial and technical resources in the region.
