Cisco tops expectations, outlook cautious
Networking giant Cisco Systems posted lower fiscal second-quarter earnings due to the communications spending slowdown that were still almost twice what analysts had expected, but shares fell as the company sounded a cautious note on the current quarter.

Palm to release new system software this summer
Palm, the leading maker of handheld computers and software, said its software unit plans to deliver later this summer a faster, more secure version of its operating system, which will enable device makers to build enhanced screens and audio qualities.

AMD adds Alchemy to its arsenal

IBM’s research division says it has developed a prototype of a portable computer module that is the size of a small pad of paper and has the computing power of a typical notebook or desktop computer.
